Transfer Station Class B Driver/Laborer
CLASS B DRIVER/LABORER
The Town of Wiscasset Transfer Station is in search for a Class B Driver/Laborer. This is a union full-time 40 hour per week post from Tuesday to Saturday. The job involves the operation of heavy and light equipment such as a front-end loader, truck, forklift, skid-steer, lawn mower and weedwacker.
The applicant should have a practical knowledge of day-to-day operations at a solid waste facility; have the ability to operate basic machinery, motor equipment, and common power tools; be open to assisting customers, enforce safety policies, using scales to weigh materials, use a cash register, credit card machine and organize recyclable inventories. Most be able to lift, bend, stoop, shovel, rake and count inventory. Work is performed under the direction of the Transfer Station Manager.

Town of Wiscasset is seeking an experienced, collaborative, proven leader to head its police department. The successful candidate will be a leader who demonstrates the ability to build consensus within the service, with outside agencies, and with the community; be customer service minded; possess strong communication skills; and will be innovative, adaptable, flexible, and creative while keeping the department contemporary in its delivery of services. In addition to administrative duties and responsibilities, the Chief of Police will be required to regularly perform patrol duties.
The ideal candidate must possess an associate's degree, (bachelor's degree preferred), from an accredited college or university with major course work in police science public or business administration, or related field. A minimum of ten
(10) Years of full time law enforcement employment as a certified law enforcement officer, with five (5) years of
experience in a command level or supervisory rank, is required. Candidates must have demonstrated skills in the areas of leadership, management, strategic planning, budgeting and community relations. The position requires impeccable integrity, ethics and professionalism. The successful candidate must be certified, or eligible to be certified, as a Police Chief by the Maine Criminal Justice Academy.
Wiscasset is located in the Mid Coast region of Maine and is the Shire Town of Lincoln County. At the time of the 2010 census, the population was 3,732. Wiscasset is a tourist destination noted for its early architecture. The Wiscasset Police Department falls organizationally under the leadership direction of the Town Manager. The FY2018 Police Department adopted budget is $ 446,992. The approved 2019 budget is $464,199 Wiscasset offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Starting salary range $60,000 - $65,000.

Code Enforcement Officer
Code Enforcement Officer / Local Plumbing Inspector
The Town of Wiscasset is seeking applicants for the part-time union position of Code Enforcement Officer / Local Plumbing Inspector. The Codes Officer works 20 hours per week and is responsible for technical and administrative enforcement of local, state and federal laws related to zoning, land use, and external/internal plumbing rules. The Codes Officer works under the direction of the Town Manager and must deal with a wide variety of parties such as town residents, developers, attorneys, engineers, architects and government officials. Wiscasset is seeking an outgoing energetic, customer service oriented, positive candidate who can help Wiscasset advance into the future. Applicants must possess a valid Maine Driver’s License and provide own transportation. Applicants must be certified as a local plumbing inspector by the State of Maine within six (6) months and be certified as a code enforcement officer within 12 months of initial employment date. Preference will be given to those applicants who have current valid plumbing license and code certifications.

Public Works Seasonal Laborer
Town of Wiscasset Seasonal Full Time Laborer
The Town of Wiscasset is seeking a Seasonal Full Time Laborer to fill an opening within the Public Works Department. The Department is seeking responsible individuals to work with the grounds/cemetery maintenance crew. Duties will include the operation of grass trimmers, lawn mowers and other light equipment. Candidates must have the ability to work successfully with a team and must be at least 16 years old with a valid driver's license. Class A or B Drivers are strongly urged to apply. The Town of Wiscasset is accepting applications for Per-Diem EMTS, AEMTS, and Paramedic. Applicants must be highly motivated and able to work in a team environment.
Pay averages are $13-EMTS; $15-AEMTS, and $17-$20 for Paramedics.
