Planning And Development The Office of Planning and Development works to improve the health and prosperity of the Wiscasset community by working collaboratively with town officials, businesses, and residents to create a vision for the community and develop effective strategies to reach that vision. The Town Planner is responsible for a wide variety of municipal activities, including ordinance amendments, comprehensive planning, downtown master planning, corridor planning, permitting processes, development review, assisting businesses and developers through permitting and planning board process, helping local businesses access support services and resources, aiding businesses and developers with identifying development opportunities, and other economic development activities.
