Planning Board
The Planning Board is made up of volunteers and is appointed by the Board of Selectmen. Planning Board responsibilities include reviewing subdivisions under State Subdivision Law and Wiscasset Subdivision Ordinance, Site Plan Review, certain projects within the Shoreland Zoning Districts, and consideration of zoning and ordinance changes. Subdivision projects include minor and major. Also, subdivision does not always include the creation of new parcels of land. Site Plan Review projects include new construction of non-residential buildings, expansion of non-residential buildings, multifamily dwellings, and paving, stripping, grading, and removal of earth materials from areas of more that 10,000 sq. ft. within a five-year period.
