Wiscasset Bicycle-Pedestrian Survey
The Town of Wiscasset, with the support of the Maine Department of Transportation and the Lincoln County Planning Office, is conducting a survey of pedestrian and bicycle use in Wiscasset. Any Wiscasset resident, as well as non-residents who routinely walk, jog or bike in Wiscasset, are encouraged to complete the survey. This can be done on-line by clicking the link below, or by picking up a copy of the survey at the Wiscasset Municipal Building (Executive Assistant's office), the Wiscasset Recreation Center (front desk) or the Wiscasset Library (front desk) and returning the completed survey to any of those locations.
The survey results will be used to evaluate the adequacy of existing bicycle and pedestrian facilities, determine whether there are any safety issues and identify any improvements that should be made in the future. This information will be incorporated into a community-wide bicycle-pedestrian plan that will serve as the basis for prioritizing future state and local improvements to bicycle and pedestrian facilities in Wiscasset.
The project is being overseen by the Wiscasset Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee appointed by the Selectmen. Committee members include:
Anne Leslie Bob Bruce
Cary Huggins Cindy Fischer
Don Jones Mark Wheeler
Patty Bridgham Todd Souza
Jeffrey Hinderliter Bill Cumming
Please take 10 minutes to complete this survey, which will help recognize exiting walking and biking needs, and prioritize improvements in the future.
